Good choice. For a 50″ plasma, don’t even look at anything other than Panasonic, for the very best in performance, reliability, and service. As a general guide, multiplying the diagonal size of the screen by 2.5 usually gives quite a good estimate.
In this case you’d be looking to sit 125″ away, or 10′ 5″.
