    Panasonic…by a long shot!!!
Panasonic is the most popular, most reliable and highest quality Plasma TV brand in the world!
Samsung is another good brand to get and shares Panasonic’s drive to keep Plasma TV technology from dying off! Both brands are now offering TV’s with 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio’s and 600hz refresh rates! Not even the new LED backlit LCD’s can come close to that!
I highly recommend 50 Inch Panasonic Viera G10. It’s good to see that there are still intelligent people out there that are pursuing Plasma TV’s over LCD’s! Plasma is still the best!!!

Panasonic - the only manufactures keen to continue Plasma and still Research new Plasma technology. Pioneer is Best of the best for Plasma TV, but just too bad, Pioneer will quit Plasma TV because Pioneer is under control by Sharp now, Sharp only keen for LCD. Sony and Sharp never made Plasma TV from the first day.
Panasonic is a new technology – average power consumptions and ” heat “, its life time has become acceptable, and enjoy high quality picture colour that LCD will never provide. If you are looking for best TV quality, Panasonic 50 inch size and above is recommended. You’ll pay just $ 16 more electric bill, and plasmas life time is 5-6 years if switched on for about 10 hours a day.

Pioneer is at the top. The 50″ PRO-111FD is generally seen by the professionals as the best TV you can get. It’s the TV you compare all others too. The Pioneer 5020FD is a step down, but still a great TV.
Panasonic makes some great plasmas, especially the 800U.
I was shopping for TVs last month. I am both poor and a cheapskate, so I went with the Samsung PN50A550. It’s the #1 50″ plasma according to Consumer Reports. They base this not just on picture quality but value for your money. CNET also rates it as “Excellent”, although a bit lower on the list than those I mention above.
You should know that the 2009 models have begun to roll out. You’ll probably pay a bit more for them, but they can lower the price of last year’s models. Pioneer is backing out of the plasma market, but Samsung and Panasonic are coming out with some plasmas that are supposedly better than last year. However, I have yet to see reviews for any of the higher models.

For currently manufactured plasmas, the only choice you should make is the Panasonic Viera plasma!!! Pioneer is very good, but over priced and this is the last year for Pioneer in TVs – they are going to specialize in auto sound and maybe GPS technology. Repairs could become problematic.
Panasonic plasma has been recognized by Consumer Reports for years as the top dog, assuming you want the very best dollar-for-dollar buy in BOTH performance and reliability. Samsung? Well, nice pic and they do have the very top advertising campaign! lol

Pioneer is the best, if you can find them. Pioneer dropped out of the TV market not too long ago, largely because their TVs were so far ahead of everyone else that they were too expensive, a 50″ Kuro Elite retailed for about $4k.
After them is Panasonic. The Viera 42″-50″ ending in 85U or 850U are the best bang for the buck TVs, running $1200-$2k.
Samsung and LG would be after that, followed by the trash brands. (Sony hasn’t made plasmas in years).

i think Pioneer Kuro would be the best but the most expensive also. I have researched plasma for the last 3months as i was preparing to buy a 50inch. I’m no expert in tvs, but i think my research has paid off, as i decided to buy a Samsung plasma PS50A550 50 inch full HD screen.
The only cons i have found with this one is a poor sound, but i have a full digital home theatre system, which compliments the big screen perfectly. The other con is the blacks aren’t as black as you would get on lcd. This tv is 100hz,30,000 contrast ratio and 1920x1080p which is future proof so the pros far outweigh the cons.
I love my new 50inch Samsung. I dont rate Sony or Panasonic as i think you are paying extra for their names.

If you can afford it, the Pioneer Kuro is the best plasma you can buy.
Else a Panasonic, LG, Samsung Plasma will work great. Just remember to calibrate and break in the screen for optimal viewing and to prevent screen image retention.

Well for plasmas I would say the ranking goes Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic. But in reality, not a whole lot separates them (aside from the top end Sony plasmas that are like $8000).
I would reccommend buying the Samsung FP-T5084 50″ Full HD Plasma TV. It has crystal clear picture and some great options like 3 HDMI ports, full 1080p HD picture, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, and picture-in-picture. Not only does it come with all those great features but I’ve seen it selling online anywhere from $999-$1500.
