Can You Bring A 50 Inch Plasma Tv Home In An Suv
Getting 50 inch plasma tv at Wal-Mart this week and they don’t deliver. Will it fit in a SUV? Some one told me that plasma tvs had to be stood up and couldn’t be laid down flat. Has anyone ever used a SUV for this task? Hate to use a pickup.

Feel free to lay the TV flat on its back, but DO NOT put anything on top. Plasma boxes have zero padding on the sides (hence the recommendation to move them in the up position).

I doubt it will fit in an SUV unless you have a vehicle with a very tall interior. As far as the upright issue, it’s recommended not to lay it down because the glass panes could become separated over a period of time or from a bump on the road.
Plasma manufacturers specify moving a Plasma set upright, not lying down on it’s side. You may not want to use a pickup but it is probably worth it in the long run.
If you screw it up, don’t be looking for a return or warranty work therefore I wouldn’t advise it.
It’s a multi-thousand dollar investment. Have the store delivery bring it home and set-up all connections. Pay for it. I’d rather have a trained qualified person who sets these up all day long instead of beating up the instructions to do it.
