How Do You Use A Stud Finder

IntelliTools™ Type: Pro Stud Sensor Applications: Detects and locates studs and joists ScanDepth: 1-1/2. This Stanley unit is great.

Set The Depth Of Scan

It is easy to use the stud finder. The only key to remember is to set the depth of scan so that the unit just detects the stud. It is able to scan walls from the inside with and without insulation.
This sensor has proven to be very accurate with regard to studs. The stud finder can even detect studs through a shear wall (sheet rock + thick plywood). It easily finds steel studs and seems to work OK through tile on a mud base. Tried it through stucco, and maybe that’s the limit. Pro Stud Sensor would tell you when you are by electric wires within the wall.

Zircon Stud Finder -- How To Video

This is a demonstration video “How do you use a stud finder” that came with a DVD for Zircon stud AC wire, metal scanner i65. This is a pretty simply all-rounder with pretty good detection.

Besides i65 the video also reviews other Zircon stud finder models -- i500, i520, i700. After watching the review you’ ll have complete understanding how does it work, and how to use a stud finder to find center of studs. All the stud finders functions are very similar.

Zircon Stud Sensor i65 One Step makes stud finding fast and simple, easy-to-read display indicates direction, edge, and center of stud. Signal strength indicator distinguishes between shallow and deep targets. Find center of studs or joists up to 1 1/2 in deep, Wire Warning Alert indicates hot electrical wiring. Download i65 Data sheet here.

MultiScanner i500 OneStep quickly and easily locates the edges and center of wood and metal studs and joists behind walls, floors, and ceilings. It also locates metal as well as live AC electrical wiring. Here you can download MultiScanner i500 OneStep instructions.

The stud finder i520 finds live electrical lines, and the studs you are looking for. Great device. Clearly shows you the edges and center of the studs. Though this scanner will not penetrate well through carpet, it does a good job on wall studs and floor joists through linoleum. Very easy to use. Zircon MultiScanner i520 Data sheet here.

The Zircon MultiScanner i700 is very easy to use and finds the center of the stud very quickly.  Highly accurate stud location. Its sensitivity is great as is the way in which both edges of the stud are found so you can find center. When you hit the middle of the stud a red beam projects straight out from the device. If you push a central bottom (clearly labeled) it will even leave an erasable mark. No need for a pencil. You can do it all with one hand.

How to select the mode, what to do for optimum scanning results, how to calibrate the tool …and more helpful hints you’ll find if download Multifunction i700 wall scanner instructions here.
