Viera TH-58PZ800U Is The Best Plasma TV To Buy
Panasonic TH 58PZ800U HDTV has the biggest size screen in its category. If you look at other sizes like TH 42PZ800U, TH 46PZ800U, TH 50PZ800U, and TH 58PZ800U, they are all the same grade televisions (comparison chart here, click and scroll down), and the deciosion is up to you whether you go with the biggest screen of 58 inches, or save a little for a good surround sound instead.
Anyway, the extra money for the 58 was more than well spent because you get used to it and other sizes are way too small. Panasonic TH 58PZ800U is one of the best plasma tv’s to buy.
Those who say plasma tv’s are not the way to go anymore are mistaken. The black level’s on plasmas are superior to lcd tv’s, and they have more of a realistic picture.
From a customer
“I watch Satellite HDTV, and play games/watch BluRay via PS3. All of it looks better than anything I’ve seen on any other TV. Planet Earth BD displayed on 58″ almost induces motion sickness, because it is absolutely so lifelike and big!”
How to hook up Panasonic Plasma 58 HDTV To DVD
You’re supposed to hook up the DVD player so that audio goes to your home theater speakers — I don’t think you’d *want* audio through TV speakers. That kind of defeats the whole purpose of surround sound to begin with. Why would you want to pump 5.1 surround sound through mono TV speakers? Check the home theater wiring guide.
Panasonic TH 58PZ800U HDTV Settings For Viewing
The Panasonic plasma 1080p probably will ruine your ability to watch any other TV, but you should spend some time and effort to make sure you have this TV set up correctly. It is very simple to set up and tweak the color settings.
I use video game mode for the Xbox 360 and my friends are just blown away by how incredible it looks! Watching blue ray movies really shows the strengths of the Panasonic TH-58PZ800U.
Even the Panasonic’s 58PZ800U highly touted THX mode could be too dark if not set correctly, then you’ll find that can use the Custom picture setting for most viewing. The THX setting is great for watching movies and games. Sports watch on standard setting which can get adjusted to your liking from the default settings, and play games on Game setting.
Only a few TVs can beat the PZ800U for picture quality, but not in this price range (think of Pioneer Kuro at $8000!). I can honestly say that your Panasonic is really close in picture quality to the Pioneer at more than half the price.
Download Quick Start guide here that covers anything you might want to know about this great TV. You’ll find out how to connect antenna terminal and cable box, AC cord connections, editing and setting channels, etc.
Panasonic Viera TH-58PZ800U Picture Is Much More Natural
The picture is outstanding, particularly when using HD sources as the display is made primarily for HD viewing. Watching baseball is like being there.
An indoor antena (OTA) with free HD programing looks fantastic (prime time network), along with a Blue Ray DVD, Xbox or PS3. Enough connection to connect all equipments.
The picture quality is outstanding, looks great mounted on a wall, and the price is right.
TH-58PZ800U 58 Inch Plasma Wall Mounts
Durable wall mount that fits 58 inch flat panel plasma TV.
This black steel wall mount fits most 27 to 84 inches flat panel plasma and LCD TVs. Supports up to 280 pounds. Easy to install. This product is a flat panel TV wall mount with tilt motion. Works perfectly.
The 58 Inch TV Has A Great Sound
TH-58PZ800U speakers are the thing that bothers the most. Probably not much of an issue for people using their sound system.
If you close your eyes you would definately think there was a decent 2.1 system hooked up. Most reviews I’ve read rate the sound as of good quality, but many people will prefer listening to the sound via a/v receivers and chosen speaker system.
If you are looking for a large screen TV at a reasonable price you cannot go wrong with this 58 inch 1080p plasma TV. The recent price drops have made it even more attractive.
