Peerless Articulating Wall Bracket For 40 Inch Flat Screen TV

The Peerless Wall Mount is simple to install, easily supports a 32 and 40inch TVs, and gives a lot a flexibility on viewing position. Mostly people choose this articulating TV wall bracket for their 32 inch flat screen TVs.
This swivel articulating wall bracket comes with everything you might need including an adapter plate, spacers, various screws and great directions. You can get it mounted on one stud in less than 15 minutes.
The wall bracket is surprisingly sturdy, considering there are only two screws to hold it in the wall.
When TV not in use, it can be positioned very close to the wall and out of the way. The range of motion is even better than expected. If you are worried about hanging an expensive TV on the wall, DON’T. It was very easy to install.
The mount works like a charm – moving up, down, left, right, close to the wall, far from the wall. This articulating TV wall mount has no problem supporting the weight fully articulated.
You must mount this bracket on a stud or in concrete or brick, so make sure the stud in your home is in a workable spot for you. If not, a wider 4-screw style mount would probably work better because those have some left/right leeway.
This is a steel mount. It works beautifully and you’ll save $200 if purchase on Amazon. It is not the same mount as what Peerless shows on their website (PA740P) for $258, that one is aluminum.

Peerless PA740 Plate Position
Unfortunately several Peerless PA740 mount purchasers claimed that the bracket did not work with their TVs as it was said not big enough for holes to line up with the holes in the tv. Scroll down to see the TV brands and their sizes below.
Seems that they must have been putting the plate in the wrong location as VESA Compatible TVs have the VESA mounting plate holes just ABOVE the connection ports. Position the plate properly, and be sure you read both, the TV manufacturer’s ,and the Peerless instructions. This articulating wall bracket is definitely VESA-compatible and should work just fine with the TVs.
Check your VESA mount standard for your TV before you purchase Peerless PA740, it’s designed for a 200 x 200 configuration.
How To Mount Westinghouse 32 Inch LCD TV To The Wall
If you are going to mount a 32 inch Westinghouse LCD TV that has standard mounting holes on the back then your installation won’t require the extra stuff. The 32″ television weighs about 32 pounds after its table mount is removed, so this wall-mount handles it effortlessly. Peerless PA470 articulating wall mount is strong and sturdy.
Keep in mind that PA740 articulating wall mount is an folding, jointed device, so you will need to mount it to the wall (in a stud) off-center if you want it to fold flat against the wall and be centered. Of course if you want to keep your TV sticking out from the wall permanently then center it. Be sure to measure for your own needs. Here is a link to a pic with the dimensions.
According to the picture it sits 2.81″ to the left of center from where you mount it when against the wall.
