Plasmas are much more improved now making all gamers happy. But it is all about your plasma settings and you can avoid burning-in. Unfortunately plasmas can burn images into the phosphor, and once burned, it will never be the same, even with the built-in screen wiper. Make sure NOT HAVE any non-moving images like dashboards or weaponry on plasma screen. And reduce colors of your plasma. As for the 1080P / 720P dilemma you have, do you really think you REALLY concentrate on how DETAILED your enemy is? Dad is the one to worry about... In recent years this has narrowed considerably to the point where plasma is still a bit better but <strong>LCD is better value for money</strong>. Whether or not your particular plasma will support 1080p depends on which model it is, if they just bought it then it's almost guaranteed that it will. Keep in mind though that 1080p is technically tricky to achieve at 60fps so many games render at a lower resolution and upscale to 1080p, therefore research on any specific titles you intend to buy.
